Evelyn is one year old!! I can’t even believe it. Like, really. I have been shedding tears here and there since her birthday party. Tomorrow is her 12 month wellness checkup- I’ll probably cry then, too. #emotionalmamaproblems #tenderheart
Evee had the most fun Spring themed party, complete with bunny and carrot decor/games/food/favors for Easter the following day. Jordan, being the creative that he is, designed and decorated a cake with farm animals from fondant. He was so pumped to make her first cake and he did so well! All but a few of Evee’s cousins were able to attend- they really made her party. She loves her cousins so much! My mom hosted an Easter egg hunt (which they all couldn’t wait for). While they were egg hunting, Evee had fun cuddling Tandy.
Thanks to her daddy, we were able to have live chicks and a newborn Jersey calf we named Tandy (prepare to have your eyes turned into literal hearts). Tandy has now become our pet and currently lives in our backyard. It is so fun raising him. The only thing I regret about her birthday was not getting a picture with all three of us!
It’s hard to know what to say about the people who change your life completely and forever. Evee brings so much JOY to those who get the pleasure to know and be around her. She is constantly surprising us with her growth and amazing personality. Everyday we thank God for her precious life and for sending her to us! Evee is sweet, sensitive, smart, smiley and sassy. She can say 15 words, her favorite being ‘Moo’ and ‘No no no’ (Heaven help me!). She loves being chased. She is starting to copy the things you do or say and it is so funny and impressive! She still loves books as much as ever. Evee loves to cuddle and gives hugs to those she’s comfortable with. She is becoming a much better eater and loves blueberries so much. Her little mannerisms are adorable and hilarious. She says Aaaw to just about everything she loves- kids, stuffed animals, real animals, toys, her parents/grandparents. She waves hello and goodbye, talks on the phone and jabbers all day long. She already has a great sense of humor and cracks herself up. Her cheeser is to-die-for. She has this growl thing when she gets frustrated. It’s hard not to laugh. Yesterday she took her first steps with her great grandma and one of her grandpas there to witness. It was magical, just like a lot of her milestones have been. Her hair is a crazy twisty fuzzy mess everyday. I have tried to style it into a swirl like I used to but it is just too dang long! My new thing, when it behaves, is twisting her hair into a ringlet right in the middle of her forehead.
Evelyn is such a light. You can feel it and see it, like with all babies and children of our Heavenly Father. I never knew how loved and crazy and joyful a child could make me feel. I’ll be sharing thoughts on my first year as a mother in another post, soon.
I’m so, so obsessed and so blessed to be her mom. And to have Jordan as her dad. <3 Enjoy these photos of her on her big day!
